For great food and gorgeous places to stay throughout Ireland. This is ...
This family-run traditional bar has great character, with open fires and lots of memorabilia - and it’s just the place for some seriously good seafood at fair prices, either in the bar or in a newer restaurant area at the back. Although famed locally for their seafood platters, there is much more to the food than that - they actually offer about 20 varieties of fish, and the menu may even be changed in mid-stream because there’s something new coming up off the boats. Cooking combines old-fashioned generosity with some contemporary twists and it’s so popular that, if you want to have a reasonably quiet dinner without a long wait, you have to be there to claim your table before seven o’clock. Good food, good service - and good value too... this is just the kind of pub that everyone hopes to find when visiting Ireland.
