Run by an experienced team - founder Edwina St Lawrence, with Executive Chef Susan Bell, and top guests chefs including Cormac Rowe (formerly of Mount Juliet Estate, Co Kilkenny) - this unusual cookery school is based in the beautifully restored Georgian kitchens in historic Howth Castle.
In this inspiring setting, it offers a full range of evening and day courses covering everything from Knife Skills and a Breadmaking Masterclass to Delicious Family Dinners and Getting the most out of your Aga.
A number of courses offer ideas for entertaining - Tapas & Paella or Quick and Simple Dinner Party, for example, or An Indian Night Out. Other international cuisines include Moroccan and Japanese classes and there's an especially appropriate theme for Howth, Catch & Cook, which involves a fishing expedition that's rounded off by cooking and eating the catch.
They also offer themed courses for groups or corporate events, and have recently introduced an outside catering service for parties and other events.
Whatever the theme, the aim is the same: "...to reconnect you with food. We want to nurture your creativity, give you a good grounding in the basics and the confidence to cook delicious food, at any time."
