Grand Hotel

One of the town’s most comfortable and popular hotels, the Grand is at the heart of the local community and there’s always a buzz
Conference/banqueting (400/200); free broadband wifi. Rooms 43 (all en-suite, some shower only); some family rooms. B&B €60. Limited off-street parking, in car park; on-street pay parking during the day. Food is served in the Pikeman’s Bar from 8.30am to 9.30pm daily. Samuel’s Restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Two course dinner €18.95. abbreviations

Established in 1928, this much-loved traditional hotel in the centre of Tralee has been restored and refurbished in recent years.

While maintaining its traditional mahogany furnishings, ornate ceilings and open fireplaces, it has added touches that now offer guests old world charm combined with modern amenities, and the staff – beginning with a very helpful, efficient and friendly receptionist – give it the personal touch that creates a genuinely warm atmosphere.

One of the town’s most comfortable and popular hotels, the Grand is at the heart of the local community and there’s always a buzz. It’s a popular meeting place for locals doing business around the town and its central location makes it a perfect base when shopping, visiting Siamsa Tire or visiting any of the local amenities.

All bedrooms are furnished to a high standard, with free Wifi, hairdryer, tea/coffee trays and multichannel tv with radio channels; extras available on request include ironing/pressing facilities and early breakfast. Family rooms have a double and a single bed, with one or two camp beds and cots as required; babysitting can be arranged and there’s a guests’ sitting-room on the first floor, with comfy seating and an open fireplace.

The Pikeman Bar is the heart of the hotel; this fine traditional bar has an open fire, making it a most welcome retreat on a wet day, and wholesome food is served from 8.30 a.m. Alternatively, for a more formal meal, the well-appointed Samuel Restaurant opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The hotel takes pride in using local produce and you might expect to find dishes like roast sirloin of west Kerry beef or poached Castletownbere salmon here, followed by traditional desserts such as crème brulee or Tia Maria and coffee cheesecake.
