A welcome addition in the Cork City Gaol area, Vikki’s café and deli in Sunday’s Well is charmingly situated in the old Post Office, and soon looked part of the scene.
You may enjoy a cuppa and a scone with homemade jam here, or maybe a sandwich or a slice of cake - the menu is limited, but is well done, and home bakes are made freshly every day.
Seating arrangements vary with the season and weather - cosily inside by the counter or beside the fire in winter, but expect the garden at the back and the pavement at the front to be busy in summer.
The deli is impressive, a who’s who of local producers including Arbutus Breads, Janet’s Country Fayre, Blue Haven, On the Pig’s Back (patés and terrines), Gubbeen meats and cheeses, lots of other cheeses including Hegarty’s, O’Flynn’s Gourmet Sausages, Glenisk yoghurts, cordials and lots of sweet treats including Mella’s Fudge.
Essentials, such as milk and butter, aren’t forgotten either. So if you just want a cup of decent coffee or if you don’t want to trek into town for good produce, then it’s worth calling in to Vikki’s - and there’s even a small wine selection.
