Although often seriously over-crowded with tourists in summer, this famous and genuinely characterful old pub in the shadow of Bunratty Castle somehow manages to provide cheerful service and consistently above-average food to the great numbers who pass through its doors.
Bar food 12-10 daily. Oyster Restaurant:L 12-5.30; à la carte 5.30-10. The Loft Restaurant: early D 5.30-7.30, à la carte 5.30-10. Music 7 nights. Closed 25 Dec, Good Fri. Amex, MasterCard, Visa, Laser. abbreviations

All-day fare is served downstairs in the bar (noon-10pm) and the Oyster Restaurant (lunch and dinner); upstairs there is a more exclusive restaurant, The Loft, open in the evening only (5.30-10pm). Both areas offer à la carte menus.
