Greenbean Coffee Roasters

This reasonably priced and consistent gem is the perfect spot for a brunch, lunch, snack or caffeine hit, and children are welcome
Open Mon&Tue 9am-4pm; Wed-Sat 9am-5pm. Children welcome (high chair); toilets wheelchair accessible. Closed Sun. Online shop (trade and consumer). MasterCard, Visa, Switch. abbreviations

Hidden behind a stylish frosted glass frontage and contemporary logo in the relative calm of Banbridge’s Townsend Street, a treat awaits famished shoppers and caffeine addicts alike.

The renowned coffee roasters Deirdre and Pat Grant, long celebrated for supplying quality coffees to the catering trade, have a loyal following of discerning locals here at their Greenbean Coffee Shop and Barista training school.

It's very attractively set up, with a comfortable and well spaced mixture of high and low level seats at round and oval tables providing the perfect resting place to re-fuel and watch the world go by. Coffee is, of course, their speciality and very much in evidence, with glass topped tables and casks filled with beans, and freshly roasted coffee delivered twice daily - it doesn’t get much fresher than this! Greenbean offer a rich or smooth option with all coffees, to suit varying tastes.

The food is unfussy and homely: delicious French toast with crispy bacon and maple syrup is a speciality on the inviting breakfast menu, and lunch specials include freshly prepared quiches, soups, salads, sandwiches and pastas. A large selection of homemade desserts and sweet and savoury pastries is on display, and just too good to resist.

Deirdre is very much hands on, along with the other friendly staff, providing cheerful, informal but efficient service.

This reasonably priced and consistent gem is the perfect spot for a brunch, lunch, snack or caffeine hit, and children are welcome.

Coffee lovers will enjoy the Greenbean website, which is informative and offers a range of coffees to buy online.
