Denotes genuine Irish food culture, ie special Irish food products/companies/producers, and highlights the best places to shop for regional and artisan foods; the selection excludes obvious 'non-Irish' elements regardless of quality, eg ethnic restaurants and specialists in coffee, wine and other drinks, unless relevant to local production or history. Eat & Stay establishments are chosen for their commitment to showcasing local produce and Irish hospitality.

Kate McCormack & Sons

John McCormack supplies excellent meats and fine deli products, many of which find their way upstairs to the family restaurant - a very neat and tasty interdependent package
abbreviations

John McCormack is currently the main man at Kate McCormack's sixth generation butchers shop in Westport and not only is this Associated Craft Butchers of Ireland member continuing the tradition of supplying the people of Westport with excellent meats but, up the stairs in McCormack's at The Andrew Stone Gallery, Annette McCormack's daughters Katrina and Mary Claire, run a small, unpretentious restaurant.

Locally reared meats go into specialities like bacon and cabbage, and a casserole of spring lamb - and many of the deli dishes from the shop are also on the menu, as well as farmhouse cheeses including the local Carrowholly cheese.

It all makes for very neat and tasty interdependent package and a one-stop shop for visitors, who also enjoy browsing the artwork on display upstairs.
