Ashes Bar & Restaurant
Sinead Roche and Thomas Ashe's friendly old pub offers something for everyone, but the emphasis is on local fish and seafood
Seats 52. L&D daily in summer; house wine from about €19. Closed last 2 weeks Jan, 25 Dec. MasterCard, Visa, Laser.
This old pub in the centre of Dingle has a smart traditional frontage, and lots of warm mahogany that makes for a warm and cosy feeling in the friendly bar. The pub goes back to 1849, and is now owned by Sinead Roche and Thomas Ashe.
Menus offer something for everyone, but the emphasis is on local fish and seafood, with a good seafood chowder and homebaked brown bread and excellent fish and chips among the specialities at lunch.
Evening menus are more extensive, offering a wide range of seafood dishes, with more of the luxurious choices including lobster when available, and some prime meats. A relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff make this a place to consider for informal dining, or just for a drink at the bar.
