Brother and sister Stephen and Linda Devlins’ popular first floor café-bistro style restaurant on the main street, is up steep stairs in a smart, light-filled room. It has a lovely curved bar as the focal point as you arrive, with informal seating that allows extra space at lunchtime and is transformed into a reception area in the evening.
Lightwood tables and a variety of coloured banquettes and comfortable chairs, together with some interesting artwork, create a vibrant, youthful atmosphere.
Stephen Devlin is an accomplished chef and has a well deserved following; his menus are Irish/Mediterranean with delicious, fresh-flavoured dishes, placing an emphasis on vegetarian dishes.
The cooking here is invariably creative, and seafood is well represented too - and some things never change, so a good steak is de rigeur in these parts, as well as delicious poultry.
Excellent service from the friendly staff, a warm relaxed atmosphere, stylish cooking and good value explain the success of this popular restaurant – a super place to break a journey and well worth a visit at any time.
