Located in the grounds of Belle Isle Castle (see entry), this purpose-built state-of-the-art cookery school opened in 2003 and was the first of its kind in Northern Ireland.
Now run as an independent operation by Chef Joe Kelly, the school offers cooking in a relaxed atmosphere, with expert tuition, using top quality seasonal Irish produce.
One of the most beautiful settings in Ireland provides inspiration for hands-on cookery courses and demonstration classes designed for any level of cooking ability, from beginner through to experienced cooks.
Courses offered range from one day to four weeks and each course takes a maximum of 14 people, allowing for a very 'hands-on' approach in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
Chef Joe Kelly, who has been a professional chef for over 20 years and a tutor at Belle Isle since 2005, works closely with local Northern Ireland producers and growers. In addition to teaching at Belle Isle he is a private caterer, cookery demonstrator and restaurant consultant with clients throughout Ireland.
