Near the coast of west Clare, between Kilkee and Lahinch, this attractive Victorian country house is set in well maintained gardens. It was the family home of the owner, Rita Meade, who ran it as a restaurant with accommodation from 1994 and, more recently, as a B&B with cookery school (details of courses on application).
Arriving guests are welcomed with tea and freshly baked scones, and returning visitors will be very pleasantly surprised by their accommodation. The five en-suite bedrooms have all been stylishly refurbished recently, with new carpets, wallpaper, and bedding.
The new look has completely transformed them so that they are not only more appealing, but also seem much bigger.
There is one ground floor double room suitable for anyone who finds stairs difficult, and all rooms have everything you could need - including complimentary bottled water as well as tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer, TV etc and and iron and ironing board is available, also Wi/Fi.
Housekeeping is excellent and this friendly house would make a lovely base for a cooking break, or any of the many other activities the area has to offer.
The dining room is at the back of the house overlooking the garden, making a very pleasant outlook especially in summer. Pleasingly set up in a traditional country style, with pine furniture, it's a relaxing place to enjoy Rita's tasty, freshly cooked breakfasts - gluten free dishes are available for coeliacs and other special diets can also be acommodated.
*Golf breaks available (transfer available to Lahinch or Doonbeg Golf Clubs).
