With foraging all the rage, urbanites hankering after the country life will love these eco trails run by Former Green Party Minister, Mary White, and her husband Robert.

Aimed at all age groups, the 2 hour walks offer a unique rural experience in the Blackstairs Mountains and River Barrow area of Co Carlow, and they are easy ('low hills or no hills') and relaxed. Learn all about the bio-diversity of the area as you go along - and, if your foraging is successful, you will take something home for dinner.

Following an impressive conversion job on one of their outbuildings in 2015, Mary and Robert now also offer workshops and courses. These can be held in the lare main room on the ground floor (which has catering facilities) and there are smaller meeting rooms above it.

They also offer accomodation in two charming  'shepherd's huts', each sleeping two - although compact, these are very comfy and all facilities nearby at the Barn (50m) are available for guests' use.
