A covered area with outside seating and views of the working harbour just across the road beckons customers in to this nautically themed café-bar and, inside, window tables in the bright front rooms also offer harbour views.
Further back, the main interior space is more moodily lit, with comfortable, spacious padded booths that line the perimeter of the room and an American-style bar in the middle.
The extensive menu has something for everyone, as evidenced by the wide range of clientele, from young families out for a meal to friends having a drink and a few small bites at the bar.
Reflecting the restaurant’s location, in a fishing port and with the market gardens of north County Dublin on the doorstep, there’s plenty of seafood and locally sourced fruit and vegetables on menus that offer some quite adventurous options, and sharing plates. Gourmet burgers are especially popular and are very good, with ten different kinds featured on the menu, and desserts are homemade.
As well as a wine list with plenty of options, there’s a cocktail menu and also a good selection of Irish and world craft beers, both on tap and bottled.
The Blue Room upstairs is available for private hire (150 to 250 guests, depending on whether or not it’s a seated buffet or cocktail reception), while the atmospheric Lobster Room downstairs is available for parties between 16 and 20 people.
