Freshness is guaranteed at Chris and Audrey Ferguson's home bakery, where they produce their popular hand baked products freshly every day.
The day starts at 3am for second generation baker Chris, who gets in first to start baking the breads and sodas, cakes, pastries and savouries needed for the day's orders, as well as for their own bakery and restaurant.
The selection produced is impressive, covering all kinds of traditional and speciality breads - including Belfast baps - tarts and savoury bakes. For visitors, the most interesting are probably the traditional soda farls and potato bread made on the hot plate (griddle), because they are so typical of Northern Irish baking.
The Country Kitchen also offers special occasion cakes, some of which can be ordered online.
Many of their bakery lines are offered at the restaurant next door - where they are famous for their Ulster Fry.
