Crowne Plaza Hotel Blanchardstown

Good facilities, attractive public spaces, stylish bedrooms and ood food make this a smart and comfortable choice
Conference/banqueting 600/450. Rooms 188. 24 hour room service, free wifi. Room rates from about €99. Forchetta restaurant seats 160. D daily from 6pm. Bar food 12-10pm. MasterCard, Visa. abbreviations

In an excellent location right next to the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, this 4* hotel is equally well placed for business or leisure in the area – or in Dublin city centre.

Although signage could be improved, it’s a very handy meeting place for any business in west Dublin and, while it might be more obvious as a business hotel, there’s a lot to attract leisure guests to this area. Shopping is an obvious pastime (Ikea is only up the road) and, with Dublin Zoo, Phoenix Park and the National Aquatic Centre all nearby, it’s a good spot for families too.

Attractive public areas include the popular Sanctuary Bar (with live music on Friday & Saturday nights), and the contemporary accommodation is stylish and very comfortable.

Guest rooms have king size beds, air conditioning, tea/coffee making, complimentary mineral water and mini bar, iron/ironing board and clothes press, free broadband, safe, separate bath and shower and bathrobes and entertainment system including pay movies on demand, all as standard, while the suites on the 8th and 9th floors have varying amounts of extra space and luxury; the décor is well chosen to be equally well suited to business or leisure guests, and there is well planned work space for business guests.

Business facilities overall are predictably good, with a private business centre available for hire, and also a photocopying and fax service available at reception. It’s also an ideal conference centre, near Dublin airport and only 8km from Dublin City Centre; the hotel has some of the largest meeting spaces in the greater Dublin area, offering a dedicated Conference Centre, with 14 fully equipped business meeting rooms and a conference room accommodating up to 600 delegates. By the same token, you’ll also find extensive banqueting and event facilities here.

Convenient to the Draíocht Arts Centre (at Blanchardstown SC), it is also near Hollystown GC (27 holes parkland course) and golf breaks are offered.

*** The hotel's restaurant, Forchetta, is one of the area's most popular dining destinations (see separate entry)
