Organic and, where possible, local is the theme of The Farm, one of the most ethically operated Dublin restaurants.
Situated prominently at the lower end of Dawson Street bear the entrance to Trinity College, the funky modern design and pavement tables attracts the attention of passers by, and its popularity means that you may have to queue for a few minutes at the door before being seated in the main dining area.
However, once seated, service is prompt and informative, with laminated menus offered immediately; well balanced and very clear on the origin and content of the dishes, they feature favourites such as pies, burgers, pastas and salads, but all with organic ingredients and an original twist: a crisp duck salad may come with with tangy Mediterranean fruits, and a dense chicken and mushroom pie be well flavoured with tarragon - and have a beautifully crisp pastry top.
Children are made very welcome in this busy restaurant, where there is sure to be something to suit all tastes and budgets.
Open from mid morning to late night, The Farm’s good, simple organic food has attracted a following in this busy commercial area.
Also at: 133 Upper Leeson Street, Dublin 4 (Open 11am-11pm; weekend brunch is popular. Take-away/delivery menu available.)
