Flanagans On The Lake

Also known as Flanagans Prime Steakhouse, this large contemporary bar and restaurant is right on the banks of the River Shannon, making it one of the most attractively located establishments in the picturesque twin towns of Ballina/Killaloe
Seats 220. Food served 12 midday to 10pm daily, closed Mondays in winter abbreviations

Also known as Flanagans Prime Steakhouse, this large contemporary bar and restaurant is in an enviable location right on the banks of the River Shannon, making it one of the most attractive establishments in the picturesque twin towns of Ballina/Killaloe.

The bar offers views directly on to the River Shannon and the historic bridge that joins the towns (and counties Tipperary and Clare), and there’s a patio and a grassy bank where visitors can enjoy a drink in fine weather while reading the menu and watching the riverside activities. Inside, the pleasant bar is spacious and bright, and an alcove at one end has big windows overlooking the river.

Beef features strongly, as you’d expect, with menus offering specialities such as rib eye Delmonico, fillet medallions and beef & Guinness pie – also a house beefburger, which is far from ordinary. With a light fluffy bun, thick succulent meat and melting cheese, it’s a definite knife-and-fork job and is warmly recommended to burger fans.

Lighter options from the extensive menu include seafood chowder or a warm chicken salad on which the chicken is coated with ‘Flanagans famous spice and nut mix’.

With plenty of space, a wide ranging menu, good food and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, Flanagans offers something for everybody and is a popular destination for family outings.
