Attractively situated on the waterfront, overlooking Lough Atalia, this fine contemporary hotel is more central than its scenic location might suggest, as the shops and restaurants off Eyre Square are only a few minutes walk. Formerly the Radisson Blu, it came into new ownership in late 2017 and was renamed The Galmont.

An impressive foyer with unusual sculptures, audacious greenery and a glass-walled lift raise the spirits, and attractive public areas include the Veranda Lounge and a pleasant room in a sunny position looking over the roman-style leisure centre towards Lough Atalia.

This Galway Hotels guest rooms are furnished to a very high standard throughout with excellent bathrooms and facilities; luxurious ‘Level 5’ suites have secure members-only access superb views, individual terraces and much else besides - all of which, plus services such as 3-hour express laundry, make this the ideal business accommodation.

Excellent facilities for conferences and meetings are matched by outstanding leisure facilities, including a destination spa, Spirit One, which offers a range of beauty treatments, pamper programmes and spa break packages (details on application).

Friendly, helpful staff are a great asset in every area of the hotel.

Conference/banqueting (1000/600). Video-conferencing, business centre, secretarial services, free broadband wi/fi. Leisure centre (17m pool, children's pool, gym, sauna, steam bath, Jacuzzi, outdoor hot tub); spa, beauty salon. No pets. Underground car park. Helipad.

RAW - sushi in the sky:

In a spacious and elegantly appointed room at the top of the hotel, RAW serves authentic Japanese sushi, sakes and whiskies.

The hotel is fortunate to have, as RAW’s chef, the master craftsman and Japanese native Hisashi Kumaga ('Kuma'). Kuma has a well deserved following, having introduced many Galway diners to authentic Japanese food, as well as delighting followers with his interpretation of European classics at several distinguished restaurants in the area over along period.

An ideal restaurant for an area where some of the world's finest fresh fish is landed, RAW showcases mainly local seafood in traditional Japanese sushi, skilfully created by Kuma.

*The Atrium Bar Menu has a more Irish tone, and offers an informal dining option.
