Although styled a townhouse, Davnet and Jackie Hourigan’s welcoming Ballybunion town centre establishment is really an inn, encompassing all the elements of hospitality within its neatly painted and flower bedecked yellow walls.
The spacious bedrooms have television, phones, tea & coffee-making facilities and hair dryer, and also comfortable chairs and curtains thoughtfully fitted with blackout linings to keep out intrusively early light in summer; all have been completely refurbished recently, in a contemporary and uncluttered style.
There’s a choice of three bars and an evening restaurant, complemented by an extensive wine list. John Hourigan is the chef and seafood is the speciality (think crab cakes, posh fish & chips, grilled salmon (wild when available), also prime Irish steaks.
It all adds up to a relaxing and hospitable base for a golfing holiday, or for touring the south-west.
Golfing breaks and short breaks are offered: details on application.
