Havana, Bank Sq

Only the décor is Cuban, but Bank Sq has a great location and serves decent food at very purse-friendly prices
Open: Mon-Wed,10am-6pm; Thurs-Sat, 10am-late; Sun, 12pm-6pm. Cocktail Masterclass £30 (with 2 course meal £45pp). MasterCard, Visa abbreviations

In a great location at the side of Castlecourt shopping centre, the name of this popular daytime café/restaurant may be misleading (the food isn’t Central American), but the Cuban style décor is very pleasing.

They do good 'superfood', sandwiches and bistro-style grub, in crowd-pleasers like Dry Aged Rib-Eye steak and Duck Fat Chips, and Fish Goujons with Potato Skins, Crushed Peas and Lemon Mayo.

You'll get good value for money and there are plenty of dishes that are a little unusual, or have accompaniments that you don't see on every menu - Chickpea burgers come with agresto ketchup, for example and there's Roast Watermelon and Citrus with the Octopus and Squid.

The breakfast menu includes Belfast Baps and there's free tapas and music on Thursday and Friday evenings 5-7pm.

The cocktails are worth trying and they offer Cocktail Master Class Packages, which can be a fun outing for groups. (Monday to Saturday subject to availability).
