This good-sized family farm shop is located just outside Ardee – heading from the town towards Kells, keep your eye out for the small Farm Fresh Fruit & Veg sandwich board sign on the left-hand side of the road. If you pass the 100 km/hr road sign, you’ve gone too far!
The shop sells potatoes, carrots, turnips, broccoli and cauliflower directly from the Hickeys’ own farm right behind the shop, as well as a wide range of other fresh fruit and veg.
Some pantry staples and a small selection of local and artisan products are also available, such as Áine Handmade Chocolate, Derrycama Farm Rapeseed Oil, Dunany Flour, Keogh’s Crisps, G’s Gourmet Jams and Barnhill Apple Juice.
You’ll find freshly baked tarts, buns, breads and other treats for sale here too. It’s a busy shop doing a brisk trade and well worth knowing about.
