This family-run shop began life in the old Fish Market (Smithfield). Run today by the second generation of the Fitzsimons family - Linda, Philip, John and Jennie - "Seasonal fish from the cleanest waters" is the promise, with all fish fully traceable.
The shop offers a wide range of fresh whitefish and shellfish, with live lobster, crab and oysters available from a tank in-store. Friendly staff are happy to help customers with preparation, advice and recipes, and the emphasis on customer service extends to an informative website, where recipes include children's fish fingers and there's a downloadable pdf of 'fish facts' giving the nutritional details of a range of popular fish.
Daily special offers are understandably popular as they give great value, and there's a range of homemade ready meals, including fish cakes, chowders and fish pies. Marinated fish and prepared vegetables are also offered, for almost-instant fresh meals.
