In seeking to regain the glamour of the grand hotels, this new Killarney hotels offering an alternative to the modernism that has taken over in Irish hotels in recent years.


The scale is large, but the proportions are pleasing and, although undoubtedly glitzy - miles of polished marbled floors and a great deal of gold - quality materials have been used and it should age well.


Meanwhile, it has a lot to offer: a central location with underground parking; luxurious accommodation at prices which are relatively reasonable; a choice of different dining experiences; and good leisure and relaxation facilities, including a Molton Brown Spa.
