Halfway up the steep main street of Borris, Michael O'Shea's unspoilt and friendly old-world grocery-pub is well worth seeking out.
The old grocery section at the front links into a modern-day shop next door, and you can buy hardware here too - a very practical arrangement that brings past and present together in a delightful way.
Conversions and extensions towards the back allow for several larger rooms, where food can be served or music sessions held, and there's a paved area at the back for fine weather. Absolutely charming.
Sandwiches, snacks all day. Music every fortnight or so: "it's a bit random".
