Ideally located for a break to explore this beautiful area, Bunclody is not much more than an hour’s drive from either Dublin or Rosslare.

This large hotel offers a wide range of facilities and, despite its size, is tucked quite neatly into a wooded site and does not dominate the village too much. Individually furnished guest rooms, suites and family apartments (interconnecting rooms) are spacious and comfortably furnished for leisure and business guests, and there are full spa and leisure facilities – including a gym that has an impressive range of equipment for use by athletes and general public

It’s a very family-friendly and child-friendly hotel, especially during school holidays and mid-term breaks when children between four and 12 can enjoy a programme of activities including sessions in the swimming pool.

However, its popularity for business and functions can show in wear and tear and, in some areas, it may feel more like a three star than a four star hotel.

A modern bar on the ground floor attracts local people as well as hotel guests, and the adjacent Millrace Bistro offers informal meals.

There’s salmon fishing on site, walking in parkland and the nearby hills, and a number of championship golf courses are within an hour’s drive.
