Butlerstown is a pretty pastel-painted village, with lovely views across farmland to Dunworley and the sea beyond.
Dermot and Mary O'Neill's unspoilt pub is as pleasant and hospitable a place as could be found to enjoy the view - or to admire the traditional mahogany bar and pictures that make old pubs like this such a pleasure to be in.
O'Neill's is now a popular stopping off point for the "Seven Heads Millennium Coastal Walk" so it may be useful to know that children (and well-behaved pets) are welcome.
*A point of historical interest: the anchor from the S.S. Cardiff Hall, which sank off the nearby coast in 1925, has found a permanent home on a platform beside the pub.
