This well-maintained bar and restaurant halfway between Tralee and the village of Fenit (a busy fishing port and excellent base for sailing), is easily spotted by its large roof sign.

The Oyster has a strong local following, due to the convivial atmosphere in the bar and large selection of seafood in the restaurant. The dining room is basically a large extension to the small bar, with a view of the mountains across Tralee Bay on fine days.

The menu is essentially traditional and everyone should find something to suit their tastes: an extensive seafood menu sits alongside a balanced choice of non-seafood dishes offering prime meat and poultry and a couple of vegetarian dishes.

All food is skilfully prepared, and the service is both efficient and friendly.

Children are welcome and the restaurant is popular with families, particularly for Sunday lunch. A fair selection of wines starts at €20. Bar open usual hours (no food served in the bar).
