Riversdale Farm Guesthouse

What Riversdale offers is a easy going rural holiday at moderate price, with unusually good facilities for a farm guesthouse and easy access to the town of Ballinamore and the many interesting activities and excursions in this unspoilt area
Rooms 10 (all en-suite, 2 shower only, 4 family, 2 ground floor, all no smoking); B&B €39 pps, single €48. Children welcome (under 3s free in parents' room, cot available without charge, baby sitting arranged); No pets. Residents D at 7pm, €22. Garden, fishing, boating, walking. Swimming pool, sauna, fitness suite, squash, table tennis. Short breaks (hill walking). Closed 1 Dec-31 Jan. MasterCard, Visa. abbreviations

Attractively situated on rising ground, overlooking the Shannon-Erne Waterway, the Thomas family's farm guesthouse is an unusual establishment surrounded by their 80 acre farm.

The house was built on quite a grand scale and looks impressive against a background of mature trees as you approach past a paddock, which is home to new-born lambs in spring: a truly rural escape if ever there was one.

The tone is that of a homely B&B rather than country house, which is totally appropriate for a farm guesthouse - so it is very surprising to find the exceptional amenities offered, which include a small but well-maintained leisure complex comprising an indoor heated swimming pool, fitness suite, squash court, and a loft with table tennis (ideal for teenagers), as well as the colourful barges moored below the house, which Riversdale build as well as offering them for holidays afloat.

Simply furnished bedrooms are all en-suite and spacious, with lovely views, and there are three family suites in the courtyard, which can be let by the week.

Meals are taken in a lovely conservatory overlooking green countryside and the river, and there are two large sitting rooms with open fires and plenty of space for guests to relax in.

Following a visit from Francis 'At Your Service Brennan' a refurb has recently been completed, but it has not changed the special features of this unusual place. What Riversdale still offers is a easy going rural holiday at moderate price, with unusually good facilities for a farm guesthouse. It also has easy access to the town of Ballinamore and the many interesting activities and excursions in this unspoilt area - ideal for a family holiday, or a reunion; the whole house can be taken for get-togethers or small seminars.
