Schull Harbour Hotel

Stylish and comfortable, with excellent facilities, prices that are very reasonable for the standard offered - and good food - this privately owned hotel overlooking the harbour is a real asset to the area
Rooms 29 (1 suite). Rooms from about €95. Families welcome. Leisure centre (swimming pool, gym, beauty salon). Chapters restaurant, D Fri & Sat from 6pm, Sun L from 12pm. O'Briens Bar, bar menu daily 12–9pm. Open all year (weekends only in winter). Self catering apartments (8) also available. MasterCard, Visa. abbreviations

This attractive privately owned hotel overlooking Schull harbour is a real asset to the town - and the area.

The exterior is traditional - cheerfully painted in true West Cork style and with colourful window boxes on the upper window ledges - and the interior has hit a nice level of contemporary style, which is smart and up to date but not making too obvious a statement.

While the hotel does not look very big from the outside - and the main public areas, including the smart O'Briens Bar and the destination restaurant, Chapters - are just a comfortable size for a small town, the extent of the amenities may come as a surprise. These include an impressive leisure centre with a swimming pool and gym with friendly, welcoming staff are on hand to deal with inquiries, which make it an ideal stay for famiies, and they're open to the local community as well as residents.

The accommodation is stylish -  the very comfortable bedrooms have been given a lot of TLC, and prices are very reasonable for the standard offered.

The hotel's reputation for good food went up several notches in 2017, when French chef Fred Desormeaux (who is well known in County Cork) joined the team - and the tasty fare on offer includes a very good breakfast as well as wide ranging bar meals and evening dining (And Sunday lunch) in Chapters restaurant at weekends.
