This family-owned hotel was built in the mid '90s on the site of a 19th century convent, to a design that retains the older features including a church.

Existing Gothic themes have been successfully blended into the new throughout the hotel, creating a striking modern building which has relevance to its surroundings in the heart of a medieval town, and succeeds in providing the comfort and convenience demanded by today's travellers, at a reasonable price.

Preachers' pub offers a bar menu (10.30-9.30 daily, Carvery Lunch 12.30pm-3pm. Barfood Menu 3pm-9.30pm) and traditional music every weekend - and the shops and many famous music pubs of Ennis town centre are just a short walk across a cobble-stone courtyard.

Legends Restaurant

Located in a bright, high ceilinged room with lots of character, this restaurant has always provided a dining experience that is better than generally expected in hotels. Comfortable seating and professional, attentive and friendly service make it a relaxing place to linger after an active day sightseeing, or the hustle and bustle of the town.

An early bird set menu and an à la carte are offered every evening, and Sunday lunch is also served here.

A combination of international influences and local ingredients are seen in dishes such as a starter of locally harvested mussels in a creamy coconut & saffron broth, or a main course of oven crisped stuffed boneless duck, with honey, orange & star anise glaze. But there is plenty of choice on all menus and there will always be some more traditional dishes, also daily vegetarian specials - and desserts tend to be classic.

The cooking is good, making this is an attractive dining-in option for hotel guests - and popular with non-residents too.
