Denotes genuine Irish food culture, ie special Irish food products/companies/producers, and highlights the best places to shop for regional and artisan foods; the selection excludes obvious 'non-Irish' elements regardless of quality, eg ethnic restaurants and specialists in coffee, wine and other drinks, unless relevant to local production or history. Eat & Stay establishments are chosen for their commitment to showcasing local produce and Irish hospitality.

Inspired by Oscar Wilde's most famous quote 'I can resist anything but temptation', Patricia Farrell's business is well and truly artisan. They are members of A Taste of Lough Derg   and the chocolates are made, decorated and packaged by hand in East Clare, on the shores of the lough.

Patricia has been in business since 1997, and the range - which includes Fairtrade Organic Bars, artisan handmade and sugar free chocolate bars, chocolate spreads, fudge, gift boxes, and fun lollies - has attracted many accolades (try the Artisan Toasted Almond and Orange Dark Chocolate Bar...) Prices are remarkably reasonable for a handmade small batch product, starting from as little as €2.50.

Wilde chocolates are familiar around Ireland, as you'll always find them at major food fairs and they are well distributed locally - at The Limerick Chocolate

Shop, for example, and The Doolin Chocolate Shop in North Clare which is very popular with visitors. You'll find them at The Milk Market in Limerick too, and local farmers' markets including Killaloe, Sundays and the University of Limerick Farmers' Market, held on Tuesdays during term time.

They're also available from the factory shop at Tuamgraney on weekdays, and there's an excellent online shop.
