Flagging his business as an ‘alternative catering company’ Ted Berner’s aim is not just to provide delicious food for events, but to make it an event in itself.


Like any good food, it all begins with the ingredients and he doesn’t need to go beyond this extraordinarily bountiful county to find every good tasting thing that could possibly be dreamt of - ranging from prime ingredients like Woodside Farm free range pork, to foraged foods, fresh garden vegetables and the wealth of brilliant products available from artisan producers throughout County Cork.


His big speciality is spit roast pig, but it’s not just any old spit roast, Wildside food is cooked slowly and atmospherically on a special cast iron frame over an open air fire made with Irish hardwoods...And, since this simple food both looks and tastes amazing, there’s no need to fancy it up.


Weddings are the most obvious market for such stylish simplicity, but Ted also does corporate events (often at the Grain Store at Ballymaloe) and private parties, and he’s willing to help with all the other aspects of putting on a do, as well as the food.
