Dunadry, Co. Antrim

This small village close to Antrim town is nearby to the Antrim Castle gardens (0044 28 94 428 000), which has some exceptional features.

The 17th Century water gardens include an ancient motte, a spectacular and unique parterre, long canal and paths through the demesne, as well as remnants of Antrim Castle.  The castle was erected in stages between 1610 and 1666, however in 1922 it caught fire and was destroyed.  The Antrim Castle gardens are also home to the Clotworthy Arts centre.

Another local point of interest worth knowing about is Templetown Mausoleum (0044 28 97 510 721) at Templepatrick.
