1 euro Denotes genuine Irish food culture, ie special Irish food products/companies/producers, and highlights the best places to shop for regional and artisan foods; the selection excludes obvious 'non-Irish' elements regardless of quality, eg ethnic restaurants and specialists in coffee, wine and other drinks, unless relevant to local production or history. Eat & Stay establishments are chosen for their commitment to showcasing local produce and Irish hospitality.

A little gem in Sandyford’s Beacon South Quarter where everything from the coffee to the crisps has been thoughtfully and carefully sourced.
Open Mon-Fri 7am-6pm; Sat from 8am, Sun from 9am. No CC abbreviations

In a time when coffee shops are a dime a dozen (and in fact, The Coffee Shot is located only a few shopfronts away from a Starbucks), it’s a wonderful surprise to stumble upon this little gem in Sandyford’s Beacon South Quarter.

Owner and barista Mark Belton is clearly passionate about coffee and will happily sing the praises of the Badger & Dodo beans they stock and serve. And it soon becomes apparent that every element in this little café has been sourced with thought and care, from the coffee right down to the crisps.

Suki Tea from Belfast is on offer, Arun Bakery bread is used in the freshly made sandwiches, treats are made by Brodericks (try the peanut butter caramel slice, an especially moreish version of the original) and there’s a big barrel of packets of Keoghs crisps.

The menu is small – soup, sandwiches, quiche and a few baked treats – but perfect if you need a coffee or a quick bite of lunch to keep you going.

This little find is the perfect place for a pick-me-up for visitors to the Imaginosity children’s museum located in the same plaza or for shoppers in the Beacon South Quarter and is deservedly popular with local residents and office workers too.
