AnTea-que Coffee Shop

The cheerful pink-and-grey exterior and pennant-adorned bay window of this Clane coffee shop is an invitation to explore further ...
Seats 34. Open Mon-Sat 9-5, Sun 10-2. abbreviations

The eye-catching exterior of the Antea-que Coffee Shop is matched by the quirkiness of the interior – tables with patterned oilcloths, bottles of fresh flowers and a variety of painted chairs give a cheerful and welcoming atmosphere.

And the food matches up to expectations. Breakfast and brunch specialities attract many regular fans who come for their favourites picked from mini Irish breakfast, the 'club' (breakfast club sandwich), the veggie breakfast, or simply for eggs any which way – Benedict, Florentine, or Grande.

Lunch includes good homemade soup, quiches, lasagne and salads, or you can just opt for freshly baked scones served with jam and cream, pancakes with bacon or maple syrup and French toast, which are just a few the many delights on offer.

'San Pasqual' sweets and pastries - supplied by Yvette Eiffe, whose kitchen is at the back of the coffee shop - are a highlight, and Yvette's range of temptations includes macarons, tarts, cheesecakes and eclairs.

Delightful staff in pink flowery aprons are the icing on this quirky cake, ensuring plenty of repeat business.
