Diamond Coast Hotel

The Diamond Coast Hotel has an enviable location with views of Enniscrone Blue Flag beach
Rooms 92. Room rate from about €99. Families welcome, baby sitting arranged, Little Diamond's Kids Club, Pirates Playground, foodtball, tennis, bikes; fishing, golf, surfing, horseriding, walking nearby. abbreviations

Next to Enniscrone Golf Club and overlooking the town's magnificent Blue Flag beach, the Diamond Coast Hotel has a lot going for it on location alone.

Add to that the many activities that are available nearby, and important attractions to visit including the Ceide Fields, and there are plenty of reasons to consider a stay here even before the advantages of the hotel itself come into the frame.

And those advantages are considerable, especially as a family destination.

As well as being very comfortable, the rooms are exceptionally large which means plenty of space for little ones, staff are very friendly and attentive and - although there is no leisure centre - it is a truly family-friendly hotel, with a very good attitude. Footballs and tennis racquets are provided, there's a great new Pirates Playground, plus the Little Diamond's Kids Club in summer  - and that wonderful beach is just a few minutes walk away.

The food  is good too, and there are plenty of dining options. There is formal dining in the Coral Restaurant, which has its own dance floor, and beside the bar is the Stir Bistro, or you can have bar food at your table in the Inishaven Bar, where typical offerings include Steak with Onion Rings, Beer-Battered Cod and Chips and Beef and Guinness Pie. Staff are terrific with families and prices are very reasonable given the quality of the ingredients and the service.

Specials Nights focus on Asian and World food, and the hotel is a popular wedding/function and music venue too, making it a favourite with locals even in low season.

All in all, a good all-rounder where the staff go the extra mile.
