Inishcrone, and usually spelt Enniscrone, (Irish: Inis Crabhann) is a large coastal village in County Sligo. The majority of the local population know this village as Enniscrone (Inis Eascair Abhainn), though local school teachers and historians use the official name of Innishcrone and have always done so. Locally, the road signs are one of the few places "Inniscrone" can be seen.
It has 5km of beach on the shores of Killala Bay that is popular with walkers, surfers, kite surfers, windsurfers etc. The Moy Estuary which forms part of the bay is a popular haunt for game anglers. There are also traditional seaweed baths in the village and at Water Point you will find an aqua centre/pool complex.
The area is also well known for its challenging links course which is felt to be one of the best in Ireland. The sand dunes tower to dramatic heights that are not seen in many places in the world.
