Grogan's Pub

Grogan's Pub is one of those proudly-run, traditional places with two little bars at the front (one with a welcome open fire in winter) and everything gleaming; it was established in 1750 and feels as if the fundamentals haven’t changed too much since then
Food served Mon-Sat 12-9pm, Sun 12-8pm. 2/3 course value menu €19.95/€24.95 (available Mon-Sat 4-9, Sun & bank hol Mons 4-8. Children's menu. Closed 25 Dec, Good Fri. abbreviations

It’s hard to cross the Midlands without being drawn into at least a short visit to this characterful pub in Goldsmith’s “village of the roses”.


It’s one of those proudly-run, traditional places with two little bars at the front (one with a welcome open fire in winter) and everything gleaming; it was established in 1750 and feels as if the fundamentals haven’t changed too much since then.


Good food is served in the back bar, where there is also an open fire, and, on Friday nights, there’s traditional music when three generations of the same family play and visiting musicians are also welcome.
