Glasson, Co. Westmeath

Glasson is on the shores of Lough Ree approximately 10km (6 miles) north of Athlone, and is the poet Goldsmith’s pretty ‘village of the roses’

Originally built as an estate (Waterstown) village, Glasson still retains its olde world charm, beauty and tranquillity. There are many historic buildings and monuments in the are including the old schoolhouse built in 1844.

Glasson is surrounded by beautiful countryside on the shores of Lough Ree where you can enjoy Lakeshore & Forest Walks and of course the now famous Glasson Golf & Country Club. With golf and outstanding waterside accommodation and dining available, it makes a charming spot for a short break.

Glasson also hoasts 2 hunts mainly the Glassan Farmers Hunt and the South Westmeath Harriers.
