Corofin, Co. Clare

Corofin (Irish: Cora Finne) is a small, picturesque village on the River Fergus in the North of the County Clare. It is the birthplace of Irish painter Frederick William Burton.

The name Coradh Finne means "the Weir of Finn" and the history of the name traces back to the times of Fionn mac Cumhail.

Corofin is noted for its access to the Burren.
