Discovered in 1952, the Great Stalactite at Doolin Cave, County Clare, is becoming one of the most important eco-tourist attractions in Ireland

 Discovered in 1952, the Great Stalactite at Doolin Cave, County Clare, is becoming one of the most important eco-tourist attractions in Ireland. Measuring 7.3 metres (23 feet) in length, it is the largest stalactite in the Northern hemisphere.

In 2012 the Farmland Nature Trail opened, which takes a looped walk around the cave setting taking in the original cave entrance in a magical glade and stone seating areas midst native trees and plants and rare and miniature breeds of animals.

Our visitor Centre is complete with cafe, exhibition area and gift shop. Wifi is available. Fully Guided Tours run every 30 minutes and take approximately 50 minutes.

Open Daily 10am-5pm. Jan 6th - Mid Feb: By appointment only July 1st - September 30th: 10am - 5pm Tours every half an hour October: 11am - 4pm weekdays and 10am to 5pm weekends. Winter : Christmas: 11am - 4pm Saturday and Sunday only Dec. 11th - January 6th: 11am - 4pm everyday
