Roundwood (An tochar in Irish), is a picturesque village high in County Wicklow. At 238 metres above sea level, it is one of the highest villages in Ireland. It has a close association with two former Presidents of Ireland, Sean T. O'Kelly who lived locally and Erskine Hamilton Childers who is buried in Derralossary Churchyard near the village.
Roundwood is surrounded by the most spectacular scenery in the country. A popular stopping off point for weary walkers. The nearby Vartry Reservoir, a shimmering expanse of lakes, mirrors the surrounding hills.
Walkers are well catered for in the area, particularly in Glendalough, as are golfers in the Roundwood Golf Club, it is also a popular area for cycling and there is fly and bait fishing for brown trout, arctic char and rainbow trout on a 4-acre lake in nearby Annamoe.
