From the moment you turn off the busy Nenagh - Borrisokane road, you enter a time warp. Margaret and P J Mounsey’s home, Ashley Park, is one of those beautiful 18th century houses where all is elegance and comfort.

This old house breathes an old-fashioned order, comfort and charm, with stunning views of Lough Ourna and the distant Slieve Bloom Mountains. You can walk down to the lakeshore or through the walled garden; the house is surrounded by 76 acres of woodland and walks have been created through it.

Whichever room you stay in, you are guaranteed a fine view, and a good night's rest. A hearty breakfast the next morning in the splendour of the double dining room, and dinner can be booked by arrangement in advance.

Recommended if you want peace and comfort in really splendid surroundings.

Restaurant

Sited along a tree-lined drive and within the fine Georgian house is this grand, luxurious restaurant overlooking Lough Orna.

Visually impressive modern dishes are precisely prepared with ingredients from the walled garden, the local area and the seafood fresh from the coast.  Using top quality ingredients, dishes with distinct flavours are carefully prepared for the enjoyment of discerning guests.
