Siam Thai Restaurant

A comfortable, atmospheric restaurant with a view across the marina
Seats 120 (private room, 45, outdoor, 30); children welcome; air conditioning. Live music (piano or live Thai band) most nights. L&D daily 11.30-4 & 4-12. Set L €14.95, Sun L €21. Early D €21 (5-7.30 Sun-Thu); Set D about €32/36 2/3 course; à la carte also available. House wine €20. Closed 25-26 Dec. Amex, Diners, MasterCard, Visa, Laser. abbreviations

One of Dublin's longest-established Thai restaurants, the popular Siam Thai is attractively located in a purpose-built modern building overlooking Malahide village green.

A smart covered heated terrace at the front is very appealing from the road and the spacious stylishly decorated interior has a full bar; the back is subtly lit and ideal for private parties, and the front area has pleasant views out over the marina.

A typically warm Thai welcome gets guests into the mood, and there is a pianist on some nights, which adds to the atmosphere. Menus offer many of the Thai classics on an extensive à la carte as well as the set menus, so it is wise to order an aperitif and allow plenty of time to decide - or the indecisive might begin with Siam Combination Appetisers, followed perhaps by main courses like sizzling fillet beef with oyster sauce or crispy duck with tamarind.

Outstandingly friendly staff are knowledgeable and efficient.
