Visitors who enjoy shopping would be well advised to make a stop at the Dundrum Town Centre (353 1 299 1700), a shoppers paradise and winner of the prestigious International shopping centre of the year award. The centre is a mix of retail and entertainment, and includes exclusive flagship stores and high street brands.
Pearse Museum, a former school is worth a visit (353 1 493 6120), which includes exhibitions, a nature study room, an audio visual show and beautiful grounds.
The area also includes one of the Dublin’s most charming parks, St Enda’s park, which offers visitors riverside walks, a waterfall and a walled garden. Golfers can take advantage of the excellent courses that are in the vicinity.
Edmonstown golf club (353 1 493 3152) is a mature parkland course and is used as a qualifying course for the Irish Open. Grange golf club (353 1 493 9490) offers 24 holes on a parkland course and Stackstown golf club (353 1 493 3934) is a parkland course, of 18 holes par 72, located on the foothills of the Dublin Mountains, and is the home club of Padriag Harrington.
Riding enthusiasts will be well looked after at the Paddocks riding centre (353 1 295 4278), which is open all year and offers a cross country course, tuition and trekking.
