Located in an informal dining piazza to the rear of Dundrum Town Centre, this younger sister to the well-known Dunne & Crescenzi restaurants offers al fresco dining alongside the fountains in the Old Mill Pond.
Decorated in tune with the style of food service - simple, no-fuss, efficient - this Dublin restaurants got a buzzy atmosphere, and an impressive display of wine contrasts with the simplicity of paper place mats and minimal table settings.
Italian staff are quick to greet and seat arriving guests; menus and wine list are promptly presented, along with an outline of the mouthwatering daily specials. Impeccably sourced ingredients form the backbone of healthy menus at L'Officina, where the use of artisan products is proudly highlighted and there are plenty of simple classic Italian dishes on offer such as Caprese salad, panini, or minestrone soup.
Menus also include platters that are particularly good for sharing and sampling several dishes. Evening menus are a little more extensive, including fish and organic fillet of beef, and plenty of choice for vegetarians.
Finish with a treat from a selection of home-made desserts, partnered with some of Ireland's finest coffee.
All round, L'Officina offers great quality at a fair price and the staff are terrific.
