Faithlegg House Hotel

Set in wooded landscape with magnificent views over the Suir estuary and its own 18-hole championship golf course, this hotel has been developed around a lovely 18th century manor house, which has retained elements of old world charm and decor.

A splendid original Waterford Crystal chandelier sets the tone in the foyer, public areas are elegant throughout and - while accommodation in a discreetly positioned new wing is quite practical in tone - the large, graciously proportioned guest rooms and suites in the old house are romantic.

There is a Catholic Church at the top of the drive (and a choice of other denominations nearby) and the hotel makes a delightful wedding venue: the main function room, the Minaun Room, is a contemporary room with a light and airy atmosphere that reflects the tone of the hotel as a whole - with 18-foot ceilings, and huge windows overlooking the handsome grounds, it makes a lovely setting for medium-sized weddings of 100-140 guests.

After meeting with the couple, the event manager co-ordinates services available within the hotel and can advise on local suppliers for extras such as a bridal limousine, helicopter or coach for guests - and also wedding cake services, which are not offered by the hotel.

This wedding venues got no room hire fee and a number of complimentary table decoration options are offered. Faithlegg has always been known for good food and, although buffets are available, the house style is for a sit down dinner, and menus include a choice of main course without extra charge.

A guest discount is offered on a limited number of rooms in the hotel, but the self-catering houses and townhouses on the estate are very popular for wedding guests, who often take the opportunity of staying on in this very beautiful area for a few days - various packages are available, including a barbecue on the balcony of the Clubhouse the day after the wedding, which rounds off the occasion very nicely.

Aside from golf, the range of activities available on site includes a swimming pool, and numerous health and beauty treatments - ideal for the bridal party on the morning of the wedding.
