Carrig Country House
Just off the Ring of Kerry, Frank and Mary Slattery’s delightful Victorian country house is as romantic a location as any bride could wish for, set in acres of secluded lakeside gardens, with its own private jetty.
There are churches nearby at Killorglin, Glenbeigh and Cromane and wedding blessings are possible here by arrangement too - everything can be arranged in consultation with Frank and Mary, including any special transport requirements (vintage car, helicopter, coach for guests).
This wedding venues lovely and this is a serious dining destination and the Lakeview Restaurant (seats 63), where the reception is held, is at its heart; in consultation with the kitchen team, the bride and groom choose a 5-course menu that allows a choice of 3 starters, a soup course, 4 main course choices and an assiette of desserts, plus tea/coffee with petits fours - and the menu price includes the canapes served with pre-dinner drinks, and a piano player performing during dinner. (The meal includes dessert, and the wedding cake is usually served with tea and coffee, later in the evening.)
There is no venue hire charge but weddings require exclusive use; at weekends this means taking the whole house for both Friday and Saturday - a plus for guests, who will have more time to relax and explore this stunningly beautiful area.
