Cahir Castle is one of the largest and best preserved castles in Ireland

Cahir Castle is one of the largest and best preserved castles in Ireland, it is situated on a rocky island in the river Suir. Once the stronghold of the powerful Butler family, the castle retains its impressive keep, tower and much of its original defensive structure. Cair Castle has a guided tour and audiovisual shows in multiple languages.

Open daily year round except 24-30 December. Mid October - February 9.30am-4.30pm; March - mid June 9.30am-5.30pm; mid June - August 9am-6.30pm; September - mid October 9.30am-5.30pm.
