Glebe House & Gallery - The Derek Hill Collection

Regency House built in 1828 set in woodland gardens with art collection including 300 works by leading 20th century artists; Picasso, Kokoshka as well as Irish and Italian artists

Regency House built in 1828 that is set in woodland gardens, decorated with William Morris textiles, Islamic and Japanese art etc. The English portrait and landscape painter Derek Hill lived and worked there from 1954 until he presented the house and his art collection to the Irish state in 1981.

The collection includes 300 works by leading 20th century artists; Picasso, Kokoshka as well as Irish and Italian artists. Exhibitions are shown in the adjoining gallery.

The woodland gardens, which border Lough Gartan, are open all year round.

Open Daily July & August 11am-6.30pm; Sat-Thur in June & September 11am-6.30pm (closed Fridays). Gallery also open during Easter.

Adults €3; Child/Student €1; OAP/Group €2; Family €8. Gallery is free of charge.
